Let's first start with the hotel, which was the Stoney Creek Inn. It was labeled as a destination spot. It definitely had an outdoorsy theme. Each floor of the Stoney Creek inn had a nice lobby. Sitting area in the lobby. The bar was ok, but if you walked down to the end of the block there was a gas station with better prices and a surprisingly good selection of wines, beer and liquor. This is a standard non-smoking king. The room was less than $100.00 I would recommend the Stoney Creek Inn as a place to stay when visiting St. Joseph, MO. Downtown City Hall was a massive building. Too bad we got there during closing hours. The inside was reported to be impressive as well. We spent a whole talking to the night crew about the building and other items of interest around St. Joseph. Ali was pointing out something. About what, I forgot but it's not a bad picture. Lots of brick buildings in the Midwest. Now for somewhere to eat..... This is Boudreaux's Louisiana Seafood and Steaks. It came highly recommended. You do have to be careful of where you park. Otherwise, a parking ticket may await you upon your departure. The menu had a good variety of choices. We started out with some alligator nuggets. The meals were reasonably priced and the veggies were fresh and not over-cooked. The restaurant was clean, the chairs were comfortable, the air conditioning worked and the food was good. What more could one ask for? My Rating for Boudreaux's Louisiana Seafood and Steaks: |
