The Black Rock Lava flow is situated between Ely and Tonapah. It was a hot day, the road to the lava flow
very washboardy, so we didn't go very far. The information booth is about 1/2 mile off the road. The washboard
effect makes it feel like 5 miles.
The only reason I was interested in this was that the I was reminded of the Craters of the Moon, located
near Arco, Idaho.
Somewhere around here is a very large volcanic crater but we have neither the vehicle or the time to get there.
On to the smoke and haze covering Tonapah.
